- The United Federation of Planets is founded (treaties signed and rattified) on May 8th in San Francisco on Earth by the Humans, Vulcans, Andorians and Tellarites. (TNG: "The Outcast"; ENT: "Zero Hour", "These Are the Voyages..."; VOY: "Homestead")
- Earth Starfleet merges with Earth Military Assault Command Operations as well as Vulcan, Andorian and Tellarite military forces to become the new Federation Starfleet. Starfleet Academy is established in San Francisco, likely on May 8th, too.
- Enterprise (NX-01) is retired from service.
