The Newman Scoring Stage is a historical sound stage in Los Angeles owned and operated by 20th Century Fox. It was previously known as the 20th Century Fox Scoring Stage, prior to its reopening in 1997. [1]

Jerry Goldsmith recorded the music for Star Trek: The Motion Picture at this stage. [2]

Paramount Pictures's lease with The Record Plant finished towards the end of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Paramount Stage M shut down for financial reasons. Recording for Next Generation episodes moved to the 20th Century Fox Scoring Stage for the next four years.

More recently, the music for Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness was recorded and mixed at the Newman Scoring Stage. [3]
